The Well Church hosts an Adoption Day event

LEXINGTON, Tenn.—A local event shines a light on the incredible power of adoption to transform lives.

Adoption Day was held Sunday at The Well Church located at 657 West Church Street in Lexington.

The event featured special guest author Jackson Terkeurst who shared his powerful story of adoption and how it led him to writing the book, “The Only Way Forward is Back.”

According to his website, Terkeurst is a small business owner and a first-generation immigrant from West Africa.

He was adopted as a child and now shares his story to encourage others who are facing similar situations.

Also in attendance was Jackson’s mother, Lysa Terkeurst. She also shared her story through the adoption process. Lysa, who is a bestselling Christian author, founded the Proverbs 31 Ministries group.

Adoption Day showcased other organizations dedicated to serving the youth of the community.

There was TN Kids Belong, the DCS Adoption Unit, and Henderson County CASA on hand to educate others as well as answer any questions.

“Just the hopes in today that we make aware to the body of Christ, just for us to be able to get involved and minister to those children that need a family and step in how God calls us to step in,” said Terrie Bromley, First Lady of The Well Church.

November serves as National Adoption Month dedicated to raising awareness. National Adoption Day 2025 will be observed on November 22.
