Donald Ray Tarver, a man of unwavering dedication and boundless love, passed away on October 8, 2025, in Bells, Tennessee. Born on October 11, 1944, in Georgia, Donald’s life was filled with hard work, joyous laughter, and a deep devotion to his family.

A proud retiree from the City of Memphis, Donald carved out a successful career as a heavy equipment operator. His work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident in every task he undertook. After retirement, he channeled his skills and love for helping others into his business as a Handy Man, all the while maintaining the same industrious spirit that defined his professional life.

What truly set Donald apart, however, was the depth of his love for those around him. He was a loving and generous man, always placing his family at the center of his universe. With unwavering support and affection, he raised son, Donnie Tarver, and an adoring daughter, Renee Clark (Chris), nurturing them with values and kindness that will last for generations. His heart overflowed with pride for his three grandchildren—Brittney Sanders, Brandon Ladley, and Jessica Cochran—each of whom held a special place in his life. As a doting great-grandfather of seven wonderful great-grandchildren, his legacy of love and joy continues to flourish in their laughter and memories.

Donald was not just a family man; he was a vibrant soul whose joyous spirit brought light into the lives of everyone who knew him. He was lots of fun to be around, filling family gatherings with warmth and laughter.

His passing leaves a profound void, felt deeply by his loved ones. He is survived by his beloved family, including his dear niece, Camille Hutson (J.W.), bringing her own light to family gatherings, reminiscent of Donald’s zest for life.

He now joins the company of his departed family, including his father, Arthur Tarver; his mother, Sallie Franklin Tarver; and his sister, Jean Martin, alongside her husband Milton. Each of these individuals played a vital role in shaping the man he became, and he will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

While the grief of losing Donald is heavy, his spirit will live on through the kindness he bestowed upon others and the love he shared with his family. As we remember Donald Ray Tarver, we celebrate a life exceptionally lived, filled with love, laughter, and the pride of being a devoted father, grandfather, and husband. He will forever be missed, and his legacy will nurture and inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
