Tanaka Brown agrees to waive preliminary hearing, receives bond reduction

DYERSBURG, Tenn. — Tanaka Brown, 29, appeared in Dyer County General Sessions Court Monday for a preliminary hearing. The hearing was held at the Dyer County Jail since Brown is still incarcerated.

Brown is one of the individuals accused of assisting Austin Drummond while he was on the run from police after four were found shot to death in Lake County. Brown was charged with accessory after the fact to first degree murder and tampering with evidence earlier this year.

Brown’s attorney, Daniel Taylor, told the court that they were agreeing to waive Brown’s preliminary hearing. The state agreed to the waiver and also agreed to a reduced bond for Brown down to $25,000.

His case will be presented to the grand jury in November and his next court date was set for December 15 at 1 p.m. in the Dyer County Circuit Courtroom.
