Madison County Health to offer free flu shots on Oct. 21
PRESS RELEASE FROM MADISON COUNTY HEALTH:
JACKSON, Tenn. — Madison County Health will host its annual Fight Flu event on Tuesday, October 21, 2025.

During this one-day event, Madison County Health will provide free flu vaccines to the public from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Madison County Health is located at 804 North Parkway in Jackson.

No appointment is needed to get the free flu vaccine on Oct. 21. Please enter at the rear of the building (Vital Statistics Lobby) to receive your flu shot.
“The elderly, people with chronic medical conditions, pregnant women, and young children are all at risk of severe complications if they get the flu,” said Regional Director Shanna Wilbanks. “A flu vaccine is the best prevention against getting or spreading the flu.”
“Flu is often thought of as a common illness, but it can be very dangerous — and even deadly,” said Shanna Wilbanks, Regional Director with Madison County Health. “That’s why getting a flu shot is so important. It’s a simple step that saves lives.”
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that millions of people get the flu each year, hundreds of thousands are hospitalized, and tens of thousands die from flu-related causes. Annual vaccination is the single best way to lower those numbers and protect families.
STANDARD FLU DOSE ONLY
Madison County Health will be giving STANDARD FLU SHOTS ONLY during the Fight Flu ’25 event on Oct. 21. Those wanting a higher-dose flu shot should make an appointment by calling 731-423-3020.
FIGHT FLU 2025
Fight Flu ’25 is the Tennessee Department of Health’s annual, large-scale preparedness exercise where medical staff and teams at county health departments statewide practice their emergency response plans using free flu vaccine for the public.
