PRESS RELEASE FROM UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF JACKSON:
USJ Appoints Alumnus Trey Teague as New Director of Development
JACKSON, TN – The University School of Jackson (USJ) is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Trey Teague as its new Director of Development.
A dedicated member of the USJ community, Teague was born and raised in Jackson and is an alumnus of the Class of 1993. After graduating from USJ, he attended the University of Tennessee on a football scholarship.
While at Tennessee, Teague served as team captain and was the starting center for the 1997 SEC championship team, earning both All-SEC and All-American honors. His success led to a distinguished nine-year career in the NFL. In 1998, he was drafted by the Denver Broncos, where he played for four seasons and was part of the 1998 Super Bowl Championship team. He later played center for the Buffalo Bills from 2001 to 2005, serving as a team captain, and concluded his career in 2006 with the New York Jets. In recognition of his outstanding career, he was inducted into the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame.
Teague’s deep-rooted connection and unwavering commitment to USJ are demonstrated through his many roles: a current parent, a former member of the Board of Trustees, and an offensive line coach for the Bruins Football team. He has been instrumental in supporting the school’s past development initiatives and the recent completion of the school’s “Imagine More” capital campaign.
In his new role, Teague will join the school’s leadership team, where he will be responsible for guiding the school’s fundraising and development efforts. He will work closely with Alumni Director Elizabeth Atkins to advance the day-to-day work of the Development Office and support the Board Development Committee. A key focus of his role will be moving forward with the strategic objective of implementing the Don Coffey Endowment and continuing to foster strong relationships and a culture of generosity throughout the school community.
Don Roe expressed great enthusiasm for the appointment. “No one loves this school more or has been more committed to USJ than Trey. He has played an active role in our successes in Development and has served as an exemplary ambassador for the institution. We are thrilled to welcome him to our leadership team.”
The Teague family represents multiple generations of the USJ community. His wife, Ashley, graduated in 1994, and their children, Lilly (a junior) and Everette (8th grade), continue the family’s legacy as current students.
Please join the University School of Jackson in congratulating Mr. Trey Teague on his new position.
