30th annual ‘Runway For A Cure’ fundraiser kicks off in Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn. — Local women hit the runway for a great cause Thursday night.

Attendees gathered at the Carl Perkins Civic Center for the 30th annual Pearls of Hope “runway for a cure.”

The fashion show is held every year and benefits breast cancer research and awareness.

“You know it’s a fantastic night of fun fashion. Real men wear pink. Everyone is here celebrating and really encouraging folks to give back to the community,” said Nichole Lawerence, committee member for Runway For A Cure. “We’re honoring 5 women tonight who have gone through the process of breast cancer and overcoming the challenges opposed to you when you are going through cancer.”

The event was hosted by the American Cancer Society and Men Wear Pink.
