Birth Choice to host open house for new adoption agency
PRESS RELEASE FROM BIRTH CHOICE:
Birth Choice to Host Open House for New Adoption Agency
JACKSON, TENN. – Birth Choice invites the community to join in celebrating the opening of their new state-licensed adoption agency with an Open House and Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony on Friday, November 1, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at their main Jackson location, 391 Wallace Road. The program will begin at 1:30 p.m. During the ceremony, Madison County Mayor AJ Massey and City of Jackson Mayor Scott Conger will issue official adoption month proclamations acknowledging the importance of adoption in our community.
The event is free and open to the public, and everyone is welcome to attend.
This special afternoon will include tours of the pregnancy clinic, the new adoption agency office, and one of Birth Choice’s mobile medical clinics. Guests will be able to see firsthand how God is continuing to expand the ministry’s reach and deepen its impact across West Tennessee.
In addition to the tours, the event will include a time of prayer and a ribbon-cutting, as staff, volunteers, and supporters gather to celebrate all that God has done through the ministry of Birth Choice and to dedicate this new arm of the ministry to Him.
“This adoption agency is a direct answer to prayer,” said Lisa Reasons, Director of Adoption Services at Birth Choice. “For decades, we’ve walked with mothers through pregnancy and beyond. Now, through adoption services, we can continue that relationship in a new way – one that reflects God’s heart for restoration, redemption, and family.”
Birth Choice’s adoption agency will be a Christ-centered, biblically-grounded ministry, focused on sharing the hope of the Gospel with everyone involved in what is often called the “adoption triad:” the birth mother, the child and the adoptive family.
Reasons explained that Birth Choice’s approach will be distinct because it views adoption not merely as a social service but as a spiritual calling.
“We believe adoption mirrors the Gospel itself,” she said. “Just as God adopted us into His family through Christ, we get to facilitate the placing of children into families that reflect that same love and grace.”
Rather than centering the process solely on adoptive parents, Birth Choice’s model emphasizes equal care for all three parts of the triad. The agency will walk alongside not only adoptive parents, and adoptees but also birth mothers long after the adoption process, providing emotional, spiritual, and practical support both before and after placement.
Birth Choice’s adoption agency will be among only five other pro-life pregnancy medical clinics in the nation that also offer adoption services. It will also be the only adoption agency with an office between Memphis and Nashville, serving 34 counties in total – every county in West Tennessee (except Shelby County) and 14 counties in Middle Tennessee.
The agency plans to place infants up to one year old and will operate on a sliding fee scale to make adoption more accessible for Christian families.
“We will have other ways to help offset costs, but we first encourage families to pray and surrender to where they are being called, whether it is here, foster care, another agency, or international adoption. The government was never meant to take care of our children. We, the church, being prolife, need to take care of them all. It is up to us,” Reasons said.
Couples interested in adopting through Birth Choice must meet several faith-based and character requirements. Prospective adoptive parents will be traditional, married couples (one biological male and one biological female) who are active members of their local church and able to provide references from church leaders and family. Each family will go through a careful vetting and prayerful evaluation process, including background checks and home studies.
For Birth Choice founders Brent and Beverly Lambert, the new adoption agency represents a powerful “full circle” in the ministry’s 36-year history. Before Birth Choice was even founded, their own journey toward adoption opened their eyes to the reality of abortion.
“Back then, we were told we might have to wait years to adopt because there just weren’t many babies available,” Brent Lambert said. “When we asked why, we were told it was because of abortion. That conversation changed our lives and led us to start Birth Choice.”
Since 1989, Birth Choice has served thousands of women and families through free pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, pregnancy options education, prenatal support, parenting/childbirth classes, and a fatherhood program. The addition of adoption services fulfills a long-prayed-for dream: extending the ministry’s mission from the womb to the home and throughout life.
“Adoption completes the picture,” Lambert said. “It allows us to walk with mothers, families, and children from that first pregnancy test all the way to a forever family. It’s a beautiful reflection of how God adopts us into His own.”
The November 1st Open House is not only an introduction to this new program, but it is a celebration of God’s faithfulness through every season of ministry. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the Birth Choice team, hear stories of God’s provision and learn how to pray for and partner with the adoption agency.
“This ministry has always been God’s,” said Reasons. “Our hope is that this open house becomes a moment of worship… a time for the community to see what He’s done, give thanks and ask how He might be calling them to be part of it.”
