PRESS RELEASE FROM JACKSON STATE COMMUNITY COLLEGE:

Homecoming Returns to Jackson State
Festivities set to take place November 3-8

JACKSON, TENN. – After nearly a decade, Jackson State Community College (JSCC) is set to reignite the college’s homecoming tradition November 3-8 with a “Return to the Nest” theme to celebrate the college’s history, welcome alumni back to the college’s ever-evolving campus, and more!

“We have seen a lot of progress since our last homecoming, and I’m excited to show off our evolving campus and to hear the stories from alumni, former employees, and friends of the college during this year’s homecoming celebration,” said JSCC President Dr. Carol Rothstein.

Homecoming 2025 will kick-off with a Hype the Nest Pep Rally at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 3 featuring a special address from JSCC President Dr. Carol Rothstein.

Following the Pep Rally a Once a Green Jay, Always a Green Jay reunion social will take place in the newly renovated Administrative Building for Current and Former Faculty, Staff and Alumni at 2 p.m.

To celebrate the return of the homecoming tradition, an exclusive shirt design is on-sale now for alumni, students, and employees to purchase that will benefit the college’s Food and Supplies pantry.

“This is going to be an incredible spirit-filled week that I’m excited to see come to life as alumni return to campus to experience JSCC again,” said Taylor Young, Executive Director of the JSCC Foundation. “We’re forming new traditions, reconnecting with our alumni, and getting to show them all of the new things that have taken place since they last stepped foot on campus.”

The homecoming week will come to a close at the Tip-Off Tailgate on Saturday, Nov. 8 starting at 11:15 a.m., where the Homecoming Cup Trophy will be awarded to the homecoming team with the most points. Following the tailgate, fans can enjoy a double header as the men’s and women’s basketball teams play at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
