PRESS RELEASE FROM LANE COLLEGE:
Lane College Unveils the Legacy of Leadership by Nationally Acclaimed Artist Danny Broadway
Jackson, Tennessee — Lane College proudly unveiled The Legacy of Leadership, a newly commissioned work by nationally acclaimed artist Danny Broadway, during the 2025 Homecoming President’s Luncheon on the Lawn. The artwork celebrates the 143 years of presidents and interim presidents who have guided the institution, capturing their vision, strength, and enduring impact.
The Legacy of Leadership brings to life the values that define Lane College; progress, resilience, faith, and community. Through expressive color and layered imagery, Broadway’s composition conveys not only the individual leaders but also the collective story of excellence and service that has shaped the College across generations.
“Danny Broadway has once again captured the essence of Lane College,” said President Donald W. Comer. “This piece reminds us that leadership is not defined by title, but by service. Every president represented here has helped move Lane forward, and Broadway’s artistry ensures their impact will inspire generations.”
Broadway shared, “It has been a privilege to work with Lane College again. My goal was to honor the leaders whose service continues to inspire. Lane’s history is rich and alive, and I am pleased that its vitality had come through on the canvas.”
This marks Broadway’s second commissioned work for Lane College. His previous piece, a rendering of Bray Hall, celebrates one of the College’s most iconic structures. With The Legacy of Leadership, Broadway deepens his connection to the institution, capturing not just its architecture, but its spirit and legacy.
Reflecting Lane College’s commitment to excellence, community, and service, The Legacy of Leadership stands as a visual testament to the College’s enduring mission: to educate, to serve, and to lead with integrity. The artwork will remain on permanent display at Lane College, offering a daily reminder of the institution’s proud heritage and visionary leadership.
