McNairy County votes to build ER

PRESS RELEASE FROM MCNAIRY COUNTY MAYOR LARRY SMITH 10/21/25:

After 7 years of hard work and dedication to the people of McNairy County, emergency healthcare is returning to McNairy County. At the October 20th, 2025, County Commission meeting, the commission voted to move forward on the construction of the Emergency Room in McNairy County. Today is an important day in McNairy County. With the support of the McNairy County Commission, the Hospital Committee, Magnolia Healthcare, and our local, state, and federal representatives the construction phase of the Emergency Room is ready to begin.

The people of McNairy County have gone too long without emergency healthcare in our county. This is an essential service that will save lives and will greatly enhance economic development opportunities in the future. This partnership with Magnolia Healthcare will bring lifesaving medical care and a state-of-the-art imaging center to McNairy County.

As your mayor I have been focused and unwavering on my efforts to bring emergency healthcare back to McNairy County. Today, all the hard work has paid off and McNairy County will be better for it. I would like to thank everyone that has been involved in making this a reality. Thank you for your support on this project and your support in the future as we continue to move McNairy County forward.

Respectfully,
Larry W. Smith
McNairy County Mayor
