PRESS RELEASE FROM BRAMBLETT GROUP:
Alan Groves, Assistant Attorney General for Tennessee, to Headline Freed-Hardeman ALUMination Days
Henderson, Tennessee – (Oct. 24, 2025) – Alan Groves, a 2015 alumnus currently serving as Assistant Solicitor General at the Tennessee Attorney General’s Office, is the keynote speaker for FHU’s ALUMination Day activities. Part of the university’s annual homecoming week, ALUMination Day connects alumni with students through classroom visits and career conversations. Groves will address the campus community during a chapel presentation Thursday, Nov. 6, in Dryden Auditorium.

“We are excited to welcome Alan Groves back to campus for ALUMination Day,” said FHU Director of Alumni Engagement Chris Ramey. “His journey from a law and politics student to serving at the highest levels of Tennessee’s legal system exemplifies the kind of impact our graduates are making. We know that his insights will help inspire the next generation of servant leaders.”
A proud Tennessee native, Groves grew up in Williamson County and graduated from Freed-Hardeman University in 2015 with a B.A. in Bible and law and politics. He earned his J.D. from The University of Tennessee College of Law in 2018, then clerked for judges on the Tennessee Court of Appeals and the Tennessee Supreme Court before assuming his current role.
Groves lives in Nolensville, Tennessee, with his wife, Rebekah, his two sons, Alan (5) and Oliver (2), and another baby on the way. The family worships at the Nolen Hills Church of Christ, where he serves as a deacon over the worship ministry.
Following his chapel presentation, titled “Justice — A Broken Signpost,” Groves will join current law and political science students for lunch and a roundtable discussion that afternoon. Additional FHU alumni representing a range of careers will also visit classes throughout the week, offering perspective and advice from their own real-world experiences.
FHU Homecoming 2025: “Find Your Way Back” will take place Nov. 2-9 on the Henderson campus. A full schedule of events is available at fhu.edu/homecoming.
