Local man sets out to walk across the nation while carrying a cross
JACKSON, Tenn. — One man is traveling across the country to share his faith and learn about others.

Zachary Adkins is a 4th generation US Army veteran who recently decided to walk across the nation while carrying a cross. Adkins says he found God in July and wanted to share his testimony with the world.
“For some reason this walk, carrying a cross I could never get out of my head, it just could not get out. And I said ‘How do you bring hope in a world where people just talk and Instagram and false idols? How do you really show somebody what it was like 2000 years ago?’ So, I figured carrying the cross across the nation–having people pull over and talk to me–would be a good idea just to talk to everybody across the world,” said Adkins.

Right now, he is on his way to Memphis and plans to continue his journey all the way to Las Vegas.
