Humboldt Rescue Squad presents a Zombie 5k and Glow Run
HUMBOLDT, Tenn.—One local fundraiser has community members lacing up their sneakers.
The Zombie 5K and Glow Run took place Saturday in Humboldt.
The event presented by the Humboldt Area Rescue Squad and EMS happened from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Bailey Park.
The race was more than just an ordinary 5K as participants were invited to dress in costumes.
Registration for the event was $25 for those who pre-registered and $35 at the event. Each runner also received a special Zombie Run t-shirt.
The rescue squad asked the entire local community to get involved with the event, calling for those living along the race route to decorate the area or cheer on the runners.
“The main event was to sponsor the Humboldt Area Rescue Squad. We’re an all volunteer rescue squad with about 45 members. The main things was just getting us a fundraiser that we can just come together as a community and work together,” said Erica Dolan, Chair of Humboldt Area Rescue Squad Zombie 5K.
Proceeds from the event will support the efforts of Humboldt Area Rescue Squad and EMS to help save lives in and around the surrounding communities.
