Annual Zero Waste Day held in Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn. – The 4th annual Zero Waste Day was held in Jackson on Monday, October 27. The event is a partnership between Toyota Boshuku Tennessee (TBTN) and the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) aiming to reduce waste and the impact it has on the environment.

The event was held at the TBTN facility, located across from the Rockabilly Stadium in Jackson, and TBTN was presented with an award from TDEC as a new member of the TN Green Star Partnership Program.

The event is aimed at helping others understand and evaluate where waste originates from and be conscious of how much waste they put into the environment. The statewide initiative provides a resource where items can be donated to be recycled.

Items accepted for recycling were small electronics, batteries, tires, paper, glass, cardboard, metal, and plastics. They did not receive items that were considered hazardous, such as paint or oil.
