RECAP: Jackson sees multiple shootings over weekend
JACKSON, Tenn. — Investigations continue after multiple shootings took place over the weekend in the Jackson.

The first shooting occurred in the early morning hours on Saturday, October 25 at 615 South Royal Street. Officers arrived on the scene and found one victim with a non-life threatening gun shot injury. However, while on the scene, officers were told that there were also two other victims involved with this shooting. At this time, all of the victims have been treated and released from the hospital.
The Studio 615 Jax on South Royal Street released a statement saying they are saddened by this incident, and that it occurred during a rented event that was not associated with their regular clientele.
The next shooting occurred in the later evening hours, also on Saturday. This shooting took place near the 200 block of Tinkerhill Drive. One person was shot and is currently in stable condition. Police say the victim claims that during a fight, he was shot by another male in the stairwell of an apartment building. The alleged shooter was also shot and wounded. He was transferred to a hospital in Memphis. Police say he is currently in critical condition.
The third shooting of the weekend happened early Sunday morning outside the Jackson Bowling and Family Fun Center. A man and a woman where shot. The woman did not have life-threatening injuries, however the man suffered serious injuries. According to preliminary investigation, a verbal altercation between two males had happened inside the business. It continued outside in the parking lot where the suspect grabbed a handgun and shot man and the woman.
Monday afternoon, JPD announced that they have charged 36-year-old Dureico Deontae McKinnie in that shooting. He’s charged with two counts of attempted second-degree murder, one count of unlawful possession of a firearm, and two counts of employing a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony. Jackson police say McKinnie remains at large and is asking for information on his whereabouts.
These shootings are still under active investigation.
