Sharon School’s Beth Davidson Honored as West Tennessee Middle School Assistant Principal of the Year
PRESS RELEASE FROM WEAKLEY COUNTY SCHOOLS:
Sharon School’s Beth Davidson Honored as West Tennessee Middle School Assistant Principal of the Year
When visiting the halls of Sharon School, you’ll quickly notice the steady calm and positivity of Assistant Principal Beth Davidson. She’s the person answering a student’s question one minute, guiding a new teacher the next, and reviewing instructional practice just moments later. She moves through the day with a kind of intentional warmth that makes students feel seen and staff feel supported and valued.

It’s those qualities that recently earned Davidson the title of Middle School Assistant Principal of the Year for West Tennessee from the Tennessee Association of Secondary School Principals (TNASSP), an honor that celebrates Davidson’s leadership, dedication, and impact on school culture and learning.
Sharon School Principal Dr. Michelle Clements says the recognition couldn’t be more fitting.
“Mrs. Beth works harder and wears more titles and hats than anyone I know,” Dr. Clements shared with a smile. “She does it all with grace and grit, making sure every student, teacher, EA, and support staff have exactly what they need each day. She can coach everyone from a middle school student to a Pre-K teacher through any curriculum, question, or best practice. And that’s why she is the West Tennessee Assistant Principal of the Year!”
The role of an assistant principal is one that often exists behind the scenes, planning schedules, supporting instruction, handling discipline with care, answering endless questions, and making sure the heartbeat of the school stays steady. Weakley County Schools Assistant Director Betsi Foster says Davidson embodies the heart of that work.
“Assistant principals are the steady force behind a school’s rhythm,” Foster explained. “They troubleshoot challenges, mentor staff, support student needs, and help create environments where learning thrives. Beth does all of this with a calm, student-centered approach. She models leadership that lifts others up and moves a school forward and we could not be prouder to celebrate her.”
For Weakley County Director of Schools Jeff Cupples, Davidson’s recognition serves as both a celebration of her work and a reflection of the strong educational community across the district.
“We are incredibly proud of Beth and the work she does each day at Sharon School,” Cupples shared. “Her leadership is rooted in our core values of purpose, connection, and growth, and that combination makes a real difference for students and staff. We have remarkable educators across Weakley County, and Beth is a shining example of those effective educators who drive our top-tier results.”
For the students who look up to her, the teachers who rely on her, and the staff who trust her, this award simply names what they have known all along: Beth Davidson is a leader who makes school feel like a place where everyone belongs.
