Thanksgiving giveaway organized for Hardin County residents

HARDIN COUNTY, Tenn. – As SNAP benefits run out and will end November 1 for 40,000,000 Americans, many businesses and citizens are stepping up to help their neighbors.

Jessica Asberry, a realtor with EXIT Realty Blues City, said they have started gathering donations to help provide Thanksgiving meals for Hardin County residents. She said it is exclusively to help the residents of Hardin County with their holiday meal.

Asberry said all residents need to do in order to receive a meal is to nominate yourself and others that are in real need of assistance. She said the winners will be randomly selected on November 17 and will be contacted privately.

She said they are also looking for more individuals and businesses to join them in sponsoring the effort so they can feed as many families as possible.
