Frost Possible Tonight, But Likely Sunday Night. Nice on Halloween, Rain Back Saturday!
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
The clouds are still moving out this afternoon but we are expecting clear skies tonight. That could lead to some frost by Friday morning but only some of us will see it. Lows will fall down to around 37-39° tonight. We should reach the mid 60s with sunny skies on Halloween and temperatures will be around 50° during the Trick-Or-Treating hours in West Tennessee. Rain showers are also expected to return Saturday evening but we should be dry on Sunday. Sunday night it appears a frost and maybe a freeze is coming for most of us too! So we got a lot to get to in the forecast and we will have it all for you coming up here.

THIS WEEK:
Thursday morning showers quickly wrapped up before the sun came up and everyone was dry by the mid morning. The clouds stuck around in the early morning hours before breaking up and clearing out by the evening making for a mostly sunny day. Highs still reached the up to around 60° but it was a bit cool due to the breeze around 10 mph out of the northwest. As the skies clear out, Thursday night lows will drop into the mid to upper 30s, a frost could be possible but a freeze seems unlikely at this time. The winds Thursday night will continue to come out of the northwest but weaken and turn up calm by the morning.

Halloween is looking a bit chilly but dry as well. We should see a mostly sunny day and a mostly clear night for Trick-Or-Treating! Highs on Friday reach the low to mid 60s but expect temperatures to hang out between 45-55° during the evening hours for the candy rush. Friday night some clouds may try to move back in and that may keep us out of the 30s. The winds on Halloween will be light for the most part and come out of the west. The next system may show up this weekend but rain amounts and coverage will be much lower than what we saw with the two previous systems that moved through this week.

THE WEEKEND:
There will be another system trying to clip up this weekend with the best chances for rain as of now coming in late Saturday afternoon into Saturday night. We will be keeping a close eye on that one one the midweek system clears out. It does not appear to be as long lasting or as wet as the two systems before it but plenty could change in the forecast as we get closer to the weekend. As of now, expect around 0.25-0.50″ of rain at most with about 60% of seeing the rain. Highs this weekend will be in the low 60s on Saturday but only the mid 50s on Sunday. Saturday night temperatures should drop somewhere around 40° depending on the amount of clouds we see by the morning. Sunday night through we are expecting clear skies with lows falling into the mid 30s. Frost seems likely at this time but a freeze isn’t expected for most of us. The winds this weekend are forecast to come out of the southwest until the system passes, then back to the northwest as it moves out.

Don’t forget about turning back the clocks this weekend. Sunday morning at 2AM the clocks will go back an hour to 1AM. So don’t say you have never gone “Back in Time!” haha. At least we will get an extra hour of sleep but it will come at the expense of getting darker much earlier starting Sunday evening. Also though, the sun will come up a bit earlier on Monday morning when you will be heading back to work and dropping the kiddos off at school too.

NEXT WEEK:
The following work week is looking really nice for all of the Mid South. Highs on Monday will reach the low to mid 60s but highs will climb each day and reach back into the 70s by the middle of the week. After a frost Monday morning, lows will warm back into the mid 40s by the middle of the week as well. Expect mostly sunny skies through Thursday next week. The winds will shift from the west on Monday to the south by the middle of the week too and that is why we will begin to warm up.
