Director Carter called for assistance from the city of Stanton Mayor Norm Bauer, who immediately responded to the scene. Mayor Bauer is working to condemn the residence until repairs can be made.

Agents were assisted in this investigation by Stanton’s new Police Chief Nigel Peeples, numerous Deputies of the Haywood County Sheriff’s Department and Brownsville P.D.

Director Johnie Carter said, “The beauty of a task force is being able to bring all of these departments and people together for one common goal and that goal is to make Haywood County a safer place to live, work and play for everyone.” It’s a one goal, one team mentality that consistently works well, he added.

This case is being prosecuted by the office of Frederick Agee of the 28th Judicial District Attorney Generals Office who has immediately began proceedings to revoke a previous bond for one of the male suspects.
