Individuals charged with assisting Drummond face more indictments
MADISON COUNTY, Tenn., – Four individuals charged with assisting Austin Drummond were in court on Monday, November 3, 2025.
Michell Ovelis, Dearrah Sanders, Eric Wise, and Giovante Thomas all appeared in Madison County Circuit Court for preliminary hearings with their attorneys. All attorneys acknowledged they had received the Discovery from the prosecutor’s office. Attorneys said the Discovery documents were voluminous and they needed additional time to examine them.
According to information presented during the court hearing, the four individuals face superseding grand jury indictments that were presented during the grand jury on Monday, November 3.
The superseding indictments would be split indictments, causing each individual to face four separate counts of accessory to first degree murder and indictments for kidnapping. The prosecutor told the court that the counts would be split to be one for each victim.
The four will be arraigned on the new grand jury indictments on Monday, November 10 in Madison County Circuit Court.
Ovelis, Sanders, Wise, and Thomas are accused of providing assistance and aide to Drummond while he was on the run from law enforcement for a week. Drummond is charged with the July 29, 2025 quadruple homicide in Lake County where James “Matthew” Wilson, Adrianna Williams, Cortney Rose, and Braydon Williams.
They also had a court hearing scheduled for Monday, December 15 at 8:30 a.m. in Madison County Circuit Court.
