Memphis Safe Task Force Apprehends Suspect Wanted for Attempted Murder and Weapons Charges since 2012

MEMPHIS, Tennessee –– The Memphis Safe Task Force announces the successful arrest of Diego Armando Redonda Mendiola, 34, in Memphis, Tennessee. 

At approximately 6:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 4, members of the Memphis Safe Task Force executed an arrest warrant resulting in Redonda Mendiola’s apprehension around Mendenhall and Shelby Drive.  

Redonda Mendiola faces multiple felony charges, to include attempted first-degree murder, possession  of a firearm with the intent to commit a felony, two charges for reckless endangerment with a deadly  weapon, and for being in the United States illegally. He is a member of the Surenos 13 gang and has  previously been arrested and was deported to his home country of Mexico.  

“The Memphis Safe Task Force is using the full force of the federal government to ensure that  criminals are taken off the streets of Memphis,” said Tyreece Miller, United States Marshal for the  Western District of Tennessee. “Anyone with a warrant needs to realize, we will find you and we will  arrest you. The task force is making Memphis a safer place for all to live and visit.”
