New functional art installation revealed in downtown Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn. — Jackson residents gathered Wednesday to celebrate the latest art installation for the city.

Looking Up Arts, a San Francisco-based team of artists, has installed their newest piece at Anderson Park in downtown Jackson.

This team was chosen through a competitive application process by a selection committee of Public Art Commission members and site stakeholders to bring new life to an empty sidewalk space. This project is led in partnership by Our Jackson Home and the City of Jackson.

The reveal event was held at 4pm and gave the public a chance to meet some of the artists behind the installation.
