Grand jury issues superseding indictment in quadruple murder case

JACKSON, Tenn. — A Madison County Grand Jury returned a superseding indictment Monday regarding the quadruple murder case out of Lake County.

The indictment lists charges for:

  • Michell Araceli Ovelis
  • Dearrah Denise Sanders
  • Giovontie Antonio Thomas
  • Erik Jermaine Wise, Jr

Ovelis, Sanders, Wise, and Thomas are accused of providing assistance and aide to Austin Drummond while he was on the run from law enforcement for a week. Drummond is charged with the July 29, 2025 quadruple homicide in Lake County involving James “Matthew” Wilson, Adrianna Williams, Cortney Rose, and Braydon Williams.

They are scheduled to be back in Madison County Circuit Court on Monday, November 10.
