RMHC’s ‘Heart of the House’ match week ends Friday
JACKSON, Tenn. — The Ronald McDonald House of Memphis-Jackson is nearing the end of a big week.

It’s Heart of the House Week for the RMHC. Here are some details about the latest project and how the organization is helping families here in Jackson.
The Heart of the House Match Week ends Friday, November 7. Each donation will be matched dollar for dollar with no limit.
“And so $10 equals $20, $20 equals $40,” said Jill Crocker, executive director RMHC of Memphis-Jackson.
All donors will receive an RMHC hat, and gifts above $500 will receive a t-shirt.
“The Ronald McDonald house provides lodging for families that are going through having healthcare treatment for their children in the local hospital,” said Crocker.

The location of the lodging for the Ronald McDonald House here in Jackson will be the second floor of the Hyatt Hotel at the corner of Lambuth Blvd and West Forest Street that’s expected to open by the end of the year.
Here, families will be able to rest while receiving some of the best care West Tennessee has to offer. The hotel is just a short walk from Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

Families with children receiving healthcare at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital will also be eligible for assistance.
“Today there are 22 families that could use the services we provide, and for the last month we’ve had at least 20, so the need is great and you know we may have to expand even before we move in because it’s just so vitally important Jackson is serving as a healthcare hub for families,” said Crocker.
Right now, the RMHC has 20 rooms available for families, with provisions in place should they need more. Also, if you go out to eat at any area McDonald’s, rounding up your total to the nearest dollar will go toward helping the Ronald McDonald House of Memphis-Jackson.
If you can donate, you can find the link to their website on the seen on 7 section of our website. The organization also accepts donations of aluminum pop-tabs from canned beverages for recycling.
