City of Jackson alerts residents to spoof text messages

JACKSON, Tenn.—According to the City of Jackson, some residents have reported receiving text messages claiming to be from the city but in fact are not.

City officials released the following information to social media alerting residents early Saturday.

“Some residents have reported receiving text messages that appear to be from the City of Jackson. However, these messages are not from the official City text alert system. We are working with our IT Department to investigate the matter. Please do not click any links or share personal information.
