Gibson Co. Commission discusses new mental health court, more in meeting
TRENTON, Tenn. — The Gibson County Commission met Monday morning at the Ed Jones Agri-plex in Trenton.

The agenda included a grant that will be used to create a state certified mental health court program. It also included a grant used to rebuild a Rutherford Fire Station that was destroyed by a tornado in December 2023.

The resolution involves budgeting for the potential land acquisition and up front cost to rebuild the station.
“The commission passed a resolution that will improve a mental health court for Gibson County. We are very excited, this will be the state’s 21st mental health court. We’re excited this will be the only mental health court between Memphis and Nashville except for Jackson City Court run by Judge Anderson,” said Bradley Owens, Gibson County General Sessions Court Judge.
The resolution is to transfer funds from one account to the other so they have the funds for it.
