Board Chair Josh Moore earned Level 2 and Level 3 status in the TSBA Boardsmanship Awards Program. The program, which includes five levels of achievement, honors school board members who invest in ongoing training, statewide collaboration, and leadership development. Moore’s advancement reflects his continued efforts to strengthen his role in shaping positive outcomes for Weakley County students.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve on this board and be part of the work that supports our students and schools,” Moore shared. “It’s an honor to grow and learn alongside a team that truly puts our community first.”
During the same meeting, board member Steve Vantrease was elected to serve as the TSBA Director for the Northwest Tennessee Region for the 2025–2026 term. Vantrease previously served as an at-large member for the statewide organization and will now represent boards across the region in this leadership role. His election recognizes both his experience and the respect of his peers across Tennessee.
“I appreciate the confidence my colleagues across the region have placed in me,” Vantrease said. “It’s a privilege to represent Northwest Tennessee and Weakley County Schools and continue advocating for strong, vibrant public schools. Our communities deserve nothing less.”
Director of Schools Jeff Cupples noted that both recognitions speak to a broader culture of commitment within Weakley County Schools.
“We are fortunate to have a school board that leads with purpose and heart,” Cupples shared. “Their dedication to continuous improvement reflects their commitment to our students, our educators, and our district as a whole. I am proud to work alongside them.”
Weakley County Schools is proud to celebrate our leaders who serve with purpose, advocate strongly, and always keep students at the heart of their decisions.
