UT Gardens hosts Amaryllis Bulb sale

JACKSON, Tenn. — The University of Tennessee Gardens in the City of Jackson hosted an Amaryllis Bulb sale Tuesday.

There were more than 500 amaryllis bulbs across 26 varieties. Shoppers could also browse an assortment of trees, shrubs, conifers, perennials, and many other plants for fall gardening.

“We call it our annual Amaryllis sale, so we sell these bulbs that you pot up and you keep in the house and they bloom typically in January and February, but we also sell trees and shrubs and conifers; things that you can put in your landscape this time of year that will be ready for spring and get your garden going early in the season,” said Research Horticulturist Jason Reeves.

All of the profits benefit the maintenance of UT Gardens and its ongoing goal to provide many varieties of plants for enjoyment, community teaching and gardening research.
