Tips for planning that perfect holiday menu

JACKSON, Tenn. — The holidays are just around the corner, making it perfect timing to plan your holiday menu.

Whether you want to try something new or stick to the classics, here are some tips to elevate this year’s seasonal spread.

First, prep like a pro.

“Make sure your kitchen is ready for you when you’re ready to cook. Do your shopping on one day. Do your cooking on another day, so that way your plan is ready to go,” said Claire Robinson, private chef.

Robinson says stock up on the basics like butter, sugar, flour, and more.

When planning out your dessert menu, pies are the staples for the season, and you can even get creative.

“Keep your scraps so when you roll out your dough, keep the leftover leaves here, like these little leaves that I’ve made, those are just made with leftover scraps,” said Robinson.
