Great for Football & Saturday, Cooler Sunday but Sunny, Stormy Next Week!
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
After reaching the mid 70s today, some upper 70s will be possible on Saturday before cooling to the mid 60s on Sunday, behind Saturday night’s cold front. The weather will be perfect for football tonight as you can leave the jackets and umbrellas at home as temperatures will stay in the 60s from kick off through the 4th quarter. Next week showers and storms are expected to return and even a severe weather setup will look to impact areas in the Mid South late next week. Catch the full forecast coming up here.
THIS WEEK:
Friday was a very warm day with highs reaching the mid 70s. The winds were a bit breezy at times and came out of the southwest. We also saw mostly sunny skies but some clouds may try to move back in Friday night into the upcoming weekend. The humidity climbed some during the day as well and that will keep overnight lows in the mid to upper 50s as we head into the upcoming weekend. Temperatures will hang in the low 60s for the football games making for a near perfect night!
THE WEEKEND:
The weekend weather looks decent but there will be a front passing sometime late Saturday or early Sunday morning. The front looks pretty weak and a mostly dry front although we cannot rule out a couple showers late Saturday night into Sunday morning. The winds will come out of the southwest on Saturday but turn to the northwest as the front passes and into the day on Sunday. Highs will reach the mid 70s on Saturday and still reach around 70° on Sunday.
Saturday night lows will fall down to the upper 50s but we will fall to the mid 40s on Sunday night. Expect a mix of sun and clouds this weekend. There will be better chances for rain early next week as a low pressure system looks on track to move through. Some storms could be returning early next week as well.
NEXT WEEK:
Rain chances will return on Monday next week and be sticking around each day during the work week. Storm chances will also be increasing into the middle of the week as a severe storm setup will return to the Mid South. The timing and severity of the event has yet to be determined as well as who in our area will most likely be impacted. Highs next week will linger around 70° with morning lows sticking around into the mid 50s for the most part. The winds will have a southerly component to them during the work week and expect a mix of sun and clouds as well. As of now, the greatest threat for severe weather looks to be coming sometime on Thursday or Friday in our area. We will keep a close eye on the potential for severe weather as the week goes on in the 7 Storm Team Weather Center.
