Holiday shopping season is almost here. Ease the burden with early deals and specials
JACKSON, Tenn. — This time of year you find yourself spending a dollar here and dollar there on great deals that come with the holiday season.

Black Friday deals are available at various retailers in Tennessee, with some already starting and others opening early on November 28.
Major stores like Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Walmart, and Best Buy are offering discounts on home goods, tools, and electronics.
Hobby Lobby Manager Stephen Smith tells us what you can expect when you walk into stores.
“We’ve always got stuff on sale especially with our seasonal stuff so right now our fall is on 50% off and Christmas 50% off which is all the time. Then we have our regular sales that go on every other week,” said Smith.
Smith tells us the best way for you to stay on top of a good sale.
“We do have a Hobby Lobby app and that’s a good way of keeping track of the sales that are going on every week, so it’s a good idea to keep an eye on it using the app or you can just go online to the Hobby Lobby website that’s right there,” said Smith.
We spoke with one West Tennessee resident who shared that she is excited for the holidays and plans to do some early shopping to get what she needs.

“This is my first time coming out and looking at all the ornaments. I’m really excited for Christmas this year and I’m definitely getting into the Christmas spirit. On my wish list is to shop at Michaels and get more craft supplies,” said Amanda Blazek, Henry County resident.
Blazek is ready for holidays and tells us when her family plans to pull their Christmas tree out of the box this year.
“We will probably put it up on Thanksgiving night or on Black Friday; that’s just a staple in our household. 100% Christmas lights and all we’re going all out,” said Blazek.

Black Friday deals are typically better for in-store doorbusters on big-ticket items like appliances and electronics, while Cyber Monday is often better for online-specific deals on apparel, gadgets, and software.
Stores around the region tell us, due to online retailers’ increased participation in Black Friday, the distinction is becoming less significant.
