Students across Chester County show support at FHU home game

HENDERSON, Tenn. — Hundreds of school kids from Chester County got a break from the books Friday afternoon.

Instead, they became the loudest crowd in West Tennessee.

Freed-Hardeman University hosted the students for their home game.

This was a unique event, as their typical crowd of college students were substituted for elementary students.

We were able to speak with the Head Coach of the men’s team, Drew Stutts, before the game.

He told us that having a crowd this size is always a boost for the team. He also explained why today was special for them.

“Yeah, this is the first year,” Stutts said. “Hopefully it goes well today and this is something that is annual and we can bring more kids in. We’re excited about this being the first year. I know, just judging the kids as they are coming in, they are fired up.”

Freed-Hardeman went on to win the game 82 to 60.
