TN State Veterans Home invites community to support Angel Tree program
HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — Gibson County residents are starting their shopping early.

The Tennessee State Veterans Home in Humboldt is holding their annual Angel Tree. This allows people from the community to come together and give gifts to local veterans.

Clothes, gift cards and more were accepted at Friday’s occasion. This will continue till December 12.

“They love it. They’re looking for their sack when it’s time for the Christmas party and we start handing out gifts. They’re kinda like kids. They enjoy getting the sack and seeing what’s inside and seeing what people picked out for them. Most of them are overwhelmed because they haven’t had Christmas like this in a while and we are their family now and so we just try to make sure that everyone in this facility gets something for Christmas whether they have family that come or not,” said Carol Holt, activities director for the Tennessee State Veterans Home.
