JMCSS named TSBA School Board of the Year
PRESS RELEASE FROM THE JACKSON MADISON COUNTY SCHOOL SYSTEM:
JACKSON, Tenn. — Jackson-Madison County School System has been recognized as the 2025 School Board of the Year by the Tennessee School Boards Association (TSBA), marking the second time in three years the district has received this honor.

TSBA selected the board from 147 public school districts statewide based on excellence in policy development, strategic planning, and promotion of high- quality education.
The JMCSS School Board, including Chairman Harvey Walden, Vice Chairman Jason Compton, and members Andre Darnell, Glen Gaugh, Shane Barnes, Andrea Michelle Givens-Moore, Debbie Gaugh, James Johnson, and Marcia Moss, has worked closely with Superintendent Dr. Marlon King to advance district initiatives such as the new Pope School, Malesus STEM, and the Hub City Central Complex, while supporting staff and maintaining a focus on students.
