Life & service of Madison County Commissioners honored

JACKSON, Tenn. — It was a special day honoring the life and service of two late county commissioners.

In Monday’s Madison County Commission meeting, the families of late commissioners Luther T. Mercer and James E. Fuller accepted the honor as the community reflected on their loved ones’ impact and legacy.

During his service, Mercer worked closely with FEMA in 2000 following a tornado to help rebuild neighborhoods and restore hope.

His family accepted a certificate, plaque, and a name plate in his honor.

Fuller was the President of the Young Democrats of 1974 and received special recognition in 1976 from Governor Ray Blanton, for his outstanding contributions to the City of Jackson.

His family also received a certificate.
