More Showers & Storms Coming Thursday/Friday
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
A stalled out stationary boundary is sitting right through the middle of West Tennessee today. Temperatures are 20° cooler in Weakley County than they are in Hardeman County this afternoon. The stalled out front is also keeping cloudy skies north of it but some clearing to the south of it. Along that boundary, a low pressure system will ride it into our area tomorrow and Friday and bring several round of showers and weak storms with it. Severe weather is NOT expected but a widespread 1-2″ of rain will fall from Thursday morning through Friday night. Catch the latest on the timing of the off and on showers as well as your weekend forecast coming up here.
THIS WEEK:
Temperatures were a little cooler on Wednesday depending on what side of the stationary boundary you were on. During the day, the stationary drifted back to the north during the afternoon. The rain from Tuesday night moved out by Wednesday morning and the rest of the day on Wednesday was dry. We saw a mostly cloudy day on Wednesday but there was some late clearing down south. Highs were in the low to mid 70s for most of us but struggled to reach 60 near the Kentucky border. We will remain dry on Wednesday night and fall down to the mid to upper 50s with the winds changing from the northwest to the south as the day went on but calm winds are expected tonight.
More rain is coming on Thursday but not until the afternoon or evening hours. There could be a couple of weak storms on Thursday but severe weather of strong storms are not expected at this time. Clouds will also increase during the day and expect a mostly cloudy back half of the day. Highs on Thursday will reach the mid 70s and Thursday night lows will only drop down to around 60°. We will be under another warm front on Thursday, just like Tuesday. The winds will come out of the south all day long and be a tad breezy.
The greatest chances for storms and the heaviest rain late this week appears to be coming in on Friday. The timing of the storms and heaviest rain is still being determined but there is a decent shot as of now that some of the Friday night games will be impacted but rain showers and maybe some storms. Overall this does not look like a big severe weather maker for us but will keep an eye on it as the week goes on. Highs on Friday will reach the mid 70s and Friday night lows will fall down to the mid 50s. Rain showers will probably continue Friday night into Saturday morning. The winds on Friday will come out of the southwest before moving to the northwest when the front passes by.
THE WEEKEND:
Rain showers will probably hang around on Saturday. There is a shot the rain clears out by Saturday morning but there is also a chances some of the showers linger in the middle of the day as well. Current thoughts are Sunday is more likely to be dry than Saturday but there is a lot to be determined still on the weekend forecast. Expect a mix of sun and clouds this weekend with the winds in general having a northerly component to them. Usually in November northerly winds means we get a shot for a freeze but there is nothing shows that being likely this time behind the early weekends front. Highs are expected to be in the mid 60s this weekend with morning lows on Saturday in the mid 40s and mid 40s by Sunday morning. We should stay out of the 30s for both Saturday and Sunday nights.
