TBI raises awareness on child exploitation and internet safety

MILAN, Tenn. — Local families gathered at Chapel Hill Baptist Church for a informative presentation on the importance keeping your child safe online.

TBI Special Agent Derek Miller along with Lieutenant Aubrey Richardson of the Jackson Police Department spoke on topic such as online exploitation of children, use of parental controls, and internet relationships and how they could be fake.

We spoke with Lt. Richardson who shares some tips for parents.

“Parents, don’t be afraid to monitor your kids’ devices. Don’t be afraid to use parental paid apps that do monitor for bulling nudity and other things that it detects,” said Lt. Richardson.
