Christine Bright Bishop

She was born in Jackson, Tennessee on January 2, 1938, the daughter of the late James Vernon Bright and Beulah Threadgill.

Christine lived a life marked by quiet strength, deep compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family. She worked her entire life, often for minimum wage, yet always managed to provide for and raise four children with love, determination, and grace. She had a giving spirit and was known for putting others’ needs ahead of her own. To her children and grandchildren, she was not only a provider but a source of comfort, encouragement, and unconditional love.

Christine was preceded in death by her daughter, Diane Kail Stockton; her son, Terry Bishop; her son-in-law, Gerald Graddy; her brothers, Billy Joe Bright, James Bright, and Jerry Paul Bright; and her sisters, Virginia McCoy and Joyce Ann Ward.

She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her daughters, Linda Dilbeck (Richard) and Teresa Graddy; her daughter-in-law, Heather Bishop; her son-in-law, Joe Stockton; her grandchildren, John Stockton, Kevin Stockton (Kacey), Christa Dilbeck, T.J. Bishop, Zackary Bishop, and Nathaniel Bishop; and her sister, Patsy Frye.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate the life of Christine Bright Bishop will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in the Mifflin Community of Chester County.

Her legacy of kindness, sacrifice, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
