Crockett Co. Burglary suspect in custody

CROCKETT CO., Tenn.— One suspect is in custody following a reported burglary Saturday morning in Crockett County.

FLEEING BURGLARY SUSPECT CAPTURED

CROCKETT COUNTY, TN – Less than a month after being released from jail, Tommy Waddle has been apprehended once again before noon today. The successful recovery was made possible through the collaborative efforts of a vigilant deer hunter, our dedicated deputies, investigators, and the utilization of our drone technology.

In a separate incident this morning at 1:30 am, a teenage driver was clocked by our deputies on routine patrol at an alarming speed of 132 mph in a 55 mph zone at Brim’s Corner on Highway 88. When officers initiated a stop, the young driver failed to stop and was later arrested.

ONE SUSPECT AT LARGE INVOLVED IN BURGLARY

CROCKETT COUNTY, TN – This morning, just before 8 AM, the Crockett County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported burglary in progress at a residence located near the 2800 block of RJ Welch Road. The homeowner intervened to stop the crime, leading to an immediate response from our deputies.

Upon arrival, law enforcement officials discovered David Carter had fled the scene. He was quickly apprehended and is now in custody, facing charges related to burglary and theft.

A second suspect, identified as 40 year old Tommy Waddle, fled the scene on foot. He is described as a tall, skinny white male, bald, and was last seen without a shirt. Authorities believe he may be in the Crockett Mills/Friendship area.

Sheriff Troy N. Klyce urges the public to remain vigilant. “While one suspect is in custody, we are actively pursuing the other. We ask residents to report any sightings of Tommy Waddle immediately,” he said. “Do not approach him, but call 911 if you see him.”
