Cynthia Faye Walker Sorrell
Cynthia Faye Walker Sorrell, 76, of Beech Bluff, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at her home on November 28, 2025 surrounded by her devoted and loving family.
Cynthia was born on April 12, 1949, in Madison County, Tennessee, to the late Cecil and Edna Walker. She met and married her husband, Stanley Sorrell, in 1968, then began to embark on her greatest endeavor as a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, devoted sister whose gentle spirit and steadfast love touched all who knew her.
She cherished her family above all and found her greatest joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She always had a smile on her face and love in her heart with only kindness to share with anyone who knew her.
Throughout her life, she took pride in raising her children, caring for her family, and making a lifelong soothing home environment for them. Her home was always a place of warmth, comfort, and welcome for all friends and family.
She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her children, Tonya Sorrell, Wade Sorrell and his wife, Christy, and Jennifer Cross Baker (John); six grandchildren: Lauren and David Cross, Cameron and Blaize Neely, Brett and Aiden Sorrell; and four great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Kaylee, Kenzie, and Hunter. She also leaves behind her sisters, Hilda Little and Barbara Roe (Sammy).
Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 52 years, Stanley Sorrell; her son-in-law, Tommy Cross; and her brothers, Norris Walker and Jerry Walker.
She will be remembered for her kindness, her unwavering love for her family, and the quiet strength she carried throughout her life. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved her.
A service to celebrate the life of Cynthia Sorrell will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at 1:00 pm at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with Rev. Walter German officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in the Mifflin Community of Chester County.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening, December 1, 2025 from 4-6 pm at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons.
