Donations now accepted for The Ned’s ‘Tree of Warmth’

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Ned in Jackson is now collecting donations of winter clothing for its Tree of Warmth.

The Tree of Warmth’s purpose is to provide warm clothing to those in need in the community. The Ned will be accepting hats, gloves, socks, and scarves.

Executive Director of The Ned David McCall says it makes him proud to be able to allow the community to give to those in need.

“The thing that we have found is that people are ecstatic about bringing donations to The Ned to make sure that they are given away, so that feels like we are serving a beautiful function to allow the community to give and to give an opportunity for those who need to receive,” said McCall.

The Ned collected around four small tubs of clothing last year and McCall says he wants to give away that much and more this year.

“I would love to be able to give away that much as well as more. Lets make a couple trees of warmth,” said McCall.

Anyone passing by who needs winter attire can take an item from the tree. Donations can be dropped off at The Ned as well and they are located at 314 East Main Street in Jackson.

If you can donate winter jackets or coats, RIFA will be accepting donations as long as it is cold outside.
