Former Alamo mayor honored with city hall renaming ceremony
ALAMO, Tenn. — One influential man is honored for his dedication to the community.

Residents gathered in downtown Alamo to celebrate the renaming of city hall in honor of former Mayor Tommy Green.

The new name for city hall is now “The Tommy Green Municipal Building.”

We spoke with the former mayor who shares his gratitude.
“Well, I was surprised and you know I was proud and you know I was humble and proud to have it done,” said Green.
“The alderman brought it up to my attention and wanted it to be brought to the board meeting for a vote and we brought it up like they asked and we had 100% vote for it,” said Alamo Mayor Kenneth Bodkins.
Green served as the Mayor of Alamo for 30 years.
