Little Warmer this Weekend, Few Late Showers Back on Sunday
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
Are you tired of the cold yet? We have been below average the last 10 days and it looks like we have 10 more on the way. Those pesky clouds have been sticking around all day and that has kept our temperatures from reaching 40° today across West Tennessee. After some patchy fog Saturday morning, the sun should come back out warming us back up to around 50° by tomorrow afternoon. Sunday will be a little warmer but clouds will return as well. There will be a weak front moving through Sunday night into early Monday morning that could bring a couple showers. There is even a chance for some flurries too. Catch the latest coming up here.
THIS WEEK:
We did see some snow up north and some afternoon sleet for most of us back on Thursday. The showers tapered off late in the evening with most of the precipitation coming down as a cold rain from that system. Thursday highs reached up to around 40° and it was cloudy all day long. The clouds stuck around all night long and the winds were light out of the north and turned up calm by the morning. Anything falling in any form of precipitation wrapped up Thursday night. Friday was a mostly cloudy and still cold. Highs only reached the upper 30s and Friday night lows will stay in the mid 30s pretty much all night long under the clouds kick off our weekend. The winds will be calm for the most part on Friday night. That could lead to some patchy fog developing overnight into Sunday morning.
THE WEEKEND:
Temperatures are forecast to be a little warmer this weekend with highs making it up to around 50°. Both mornings will hang in the low 30s but Sunday night we could fall back into the mid to upper 20s again. There will be another system moving through the weekend but as of now, it looks to bring a few cold rain showers if anything at all on Sunday. Depending on the timing of the system we can’t rule out a brief wintry mix or even some light snow at this time but we are leaning towards a cold rain at this time. The winds will be calm on Saturday and come out of the west on Sunday and back to the north Sunday night into Monday. Expect a mostly sunny day on Saturday but a mostly cloudy day on Sunday. The front should pass late in the day on Sunday.
NEXT WEEK:
After the showers wrap up on Sunday, another dry period will move in to kick off the upcoming work week. Temperatures will be chilly on Monday behind Sunday’s cold front. Highs will only reach the mid 40s again on Monday and expect a light breeze out of the north. Clouds will break up as the day goes on as well and we are expecting a mostly sunny day on Tuesday. As the skies clear out Monday night lows will fall down to the mid to upper 20s again. During the day on Tuesday the winds will shift back to the southwest and that should warm up back up into the 50s for the middle of the week. We could get close to 60° on Wednesday before the next front passing late in the day. A few showers will be possible on Wednesday but as of now, it is looking like a mostly dry front. Highs will drop back into the mid 40s for Thursday.
