JPD announces arrest in child abuse, murder investigation
PRESS RELEASE FROM THE JACKSON POLICE DEPARTMENT:
JACKSON, Tenn. — On November 30, 2025, officers with the Jackson Police Department responded to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital regarding a report of a child abuse incident.
A 7-month-old baby boy arrived at the hospital around 10:30 am unresponsive and exhibiting shallow breathing. Medical personnel determined that the child sustained internal injuries consistent with multiple blunt-force trauma.
The infant was later air-lifted to LeBonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, where he later died on December 4, 2025.
During the investigation, the child’s mother informed investigators that she left the child in the care of her boyfriend, Kameron Lamont Morgan, a 25-year-old man.

Morgan was taken into custody on November 30, 2025, and has been charged with Aggravated Child Abuse and Neglect and Second Degree Murder.
