Kenneth B. Basham, Sr.
Rev. Kenneth B. Basham, Sr., 78, of Three Way, near Jackson went home to be with the Lord Friday, December 5, 2025, at his home. He was a former resident of Obion County.
Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Gary Snuffin will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Manuel Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday and from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be John Michael Flowers, Nathan Basham, Reid Basham, Landon Todd, Parker Beal, Austin Chilcutt and Ryan Aljancic.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Gideons International.
Kenneth was born May 10, 1947, in Obion County, son of the late George B. Basham and Opal Christine (Carter) Basham. He married the former Judy Ann (Cagle) Basham on November 4, 1966. Kenneth was a 1966 graduate of Obion County Central High School and received his ministerial degree from International Seminary. He was ordained into the gospel ministry at Second Baptist Church in Union City in the spring of 1982. Kenneth had served as pastor of Walnut Log Baptist Church, Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, First Baptist Church in Obion, Hornbeak Baptist Church, Maple Springs Baptist Church, First Baptist Church in Medina, Russwood Baptist Church, Flintville Baptist Church, and Cotton Grove Baptist Church all in Tennessee. Before going into ministry, Kenneth worked on the family farm and as an employee at the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. He enjoyed fishing and playing golf, but above all things he loved to talk to people about his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Kenneth was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Jackson.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Judy Basham; three sons, Kenneth Basham, Jr. (Dawn) of Martin, Keith Basham (Pamela) of Milan and Kevin Basham (Tarsha) of Jackson; one daughter, Letitia Smith (Tim) of Medina; one sister, Cheryl Kirk of the Shawtown community; 9 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 6 step great grandchildren; and one step great great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by one half brother, George B. Basham, Jr.; four brothers, Bobby Basham, Larry Basham, Jerrell Basham and Mickey Basham; and three sisters, Ruth Ann Ladd, Joan Jones and Anita Hoffman.
