Johnson is seeking the Tennessee House of Representatives seat in District 80, which is being vacated by long-time state representative Johnny Shaw.

Johnson told us some of the areas she would focus on if elected.

“I want to have access to affordable healthcare, I would like to bring more resources to our teachers and our schools. I would also like to help with workforce development, so that our students are prepared to make a livable wage so that they will not only survive, but I think the people in the community need to thrive,” said Johnson.

District 80 includes part of Madison and Haywood counties and all of Hardeman County. The election will be held next year.
