Senator Marsha Blackburn introduces Kids Online Safety Act

JACKSON, Tenn. — Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) speaks about new legislation she says will keep kids safer online.

Senator Blackburn says that she and the judiciary committee are trying to make sure that big tech makes certain that their platforms are safe for children.

The Kids Online Safety Act is a bill that Blackburn says will protect children in the virtual world like they are protected in the physical world.

She says it is a bill that is being heavily fought by Meta and she urges those voting against the bill to vote for children and not for big tech.

Blackburn says that children are faced with serious threats like eating disorders, the promotion of suicide, and sexual abuse.

“Our children are their product, they’re not concerned about the child, they’re not concerned about the child’s wellbeing, they’re concerned about making money” said Blackburn.
