On December 11, 2024, a mysterious fire erupted in an unfinished hotel building located at 125 Million Dollar Way in Savannah.

Authorities initially believed the nature of the fire was suspicious. A year later, investigators still have not identified a suspect and are now turning to the community.
“As of right now, the TBI are really, you know, we’re really needing the community’s help,” said TBI Special Agent Kenneth Rippy.
Rippy says the investigation into the fire is still very much active. The huge flames destroyed the unfinished Sleep Inn and spread to a neighboring home.
“If anybody has seen anything or remember anything about that morning, December 11–I know it’s been a year–we want to get this back in front of everybody and kind of refresh their memory about it,” said Rippy.
Authorities originally offered a $5,000 reward for any information relating to the fire. That amount has since increased.
“There is still a reward–which is up to $15,000–leading to information to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons involved,” said Rippy.
Multiple agencies originally worked the case, including the TBI, Savannah police and fire departments, Hardin County Fire Department, and ATF.
Rippy says he’s hopeful the community will provide some assistance to the investigation.
If you have information that could assist this investigation, you are urged to call the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND, or the Savannah Police Department at 731-925-3200.
