Willie Mae Ables
Born on June 13, 1938, in Dyersburg, TN, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Thomas Nail and Mary Dell Sawyer Nail.
A devoted homemaker, Willie Mae dedicated her life to raising her seven children and caring for her family with quiet strength, unwavering love, and a steadfast heart. Her home was a place of comfort, warmth, and welcome—one where everyone who entered could feel her gentle spirit.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Burnice Ray Ables; her daughter, Tammy Ables; her sons, Joe Ables and William Ables; and all of her siblings.
Willie Mae is survived by her children, Charlotte Woodward, Dennis Ables, Jimmy Ables, and Ronnie Ables; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
A graveside service to celebrate the life of Willie Mae Ables will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 1:15 p.m. at Highland Memorial Gardens.
Her legacy of love, resilience, and family devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
