2025 AKC Championship to air on ABC December 28
JACKSON, Tenn. — A $50,000 grand prize is on the line as thousands of dogs compete in the American Kennel Club National Championship.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the competition that’s been naming the Best in Show since 2001.
This year’s event, sponsored by Royal Canin, was held December 13 & 14 in Orlando, Florida, testing dogs in agility, obedience, and much more.
The top dogs in recent years have included the Giant Schnauzer, the Shih Tzu, the Bulldog, and the Pekingnese.
“I think it’s just an incredible opportunity to, like Bill said, spend time with the people and the dogs that you love if you have them in your home, and to relax, and just take in the beauty of these incredible dogs and learn more about what they were bred to do, is a really fun experience,” said Carolyn Manno, host of AKC TV.
The 2025 AKC National Championship will air as a three hour special on ABC at 11 a.m. Central on December 28.
